Its located approximately 600 Kms from Chennai. After analyzing various economical options to munnar we choose to go by train. The closest station is dindukal from there we can catch a bus to theni and from there we can catch a cab for 1500 Rs to munnar. A reasonable rate considering the fact that the road to munnar is very tedious with sharp curves and rectangular edges. It was not a welcoming road to munnar, we had hard stop when a bus went zooming front of us. The scenaries towards the road is very amassing, the hills are beautiful and and was covered in green. Except for a water falls, there is not much to stop in the way to the top.
Hotel: We booked a hotel in spring dale resort a double bed room for a cost of 1885 per day, for four people, any extra member invites a cost of extra 150 Rs per head. Only after reaching there we found out there are lot more rooms at cheaper rates than the one we were staying at. But you will not be able to find them in the net. WE went there before the staring time of the tourist season 27/08/2011, so it was not very crowded. In the process of going around we got hold of a pamphlet of a hotel with its number.

We saw the Inn from outside its near the bus stop and it had very decent exterior, with good access to food close by.
Connectivity: Its advised to have a bsnl number if you want to stay in touch. Since outside munnar only Bsnl works and may be by luck vodaphone.
About the place:
Munnar is a small town that which is named because of the three rivers passing through it. There is nothing within munnar and we have to travel far on the road leading out of munnar to go out of the town. The senaries leading to these place are breath taking and beautiful
Food: If you’re from tamil nadu and want to stick to it, then no worries hotel saravan is present near the munnar town bus stop. Its located close to saravana inn and provides the regular tamil nadu food, the food is good. But, the name is deceiving and its no way related to Saravana bhavan. Cost is not that high either.
